Statehood Day of Rajasthan, Odisha & Bihar Celebrated at Lok Bhavan with Cultural Fervour

In a vibrant celebration of national unity and cultural diversity, the Statehood Day of Rajasthan, Odisha and Bihar was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Lok Bhavan, Shimla today.
The event was organized under the spirit of Ek Bharat Shresth Bharat, the flagship initiative of the Government of India aimed at fostering cultural integration and emotional unity among the states of the nation.
Governor Shri Kavinder Gupta graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and warmly felicitated the gathering.
In a heartfelt gesture reflecting the age-old tradition of Himachali hospitality, the Governor presented traditional Himachali caps and shawls to the distinguished guests, symbolizing the bonds of brotherhood that unite every corner of India.
The celebration was marked by cultural exchanges that brought alive the rich heritage of Rajasthan, Odisha and Bihar.
The government employees hailing from these three states shared their personal experiences of living and working in Himachal Pradesh, highlighting the warmth, camaraderie and sense of belonging they have experienced in the state. Their heartfelt accounts underscored the true essence of Ek Bharat Shresth Bharat.
Speaking on the occasion, the Governor said that India’s strength lies in its unity in diversity. He emphasized that initiatives like Ek Bharat Shresth Bharat strengthen the cultural fabric of the nation and remind every citizen that while our traditions may differ, our spirit is one.
The further said that the states of Bihar, Rajasthan and Odisha are renowned for their ancient civilizations, rich history and vibrant cultural heritage. He added that the diversity of India is its greatest strength, and understanding each other’s culture, language and traditions helps in strengthening national unity.
Shri Gupta further said that citizens from these states have made significant contributions to the development of Himachal Pradesh. He noted that such cultural interactions foster harmony, mutual respect and a spirit of brotherhood, which ultimately strengthens the social fabric of the nation.
The Governor has also made a significant announcement that Lok Bhavan, Shimla will be opened for the general public on two days every week, aiming to bring the Raj Bhavan closer to the common people of Himachal Pradesh, so that every citizen feels a sense of ownership and connection with this institution. The Governor expressed that the doors of Lok Bhavan should not remain confined to officialdom alone, but must reflect the aspirations and participation of the people it serves.
