HPMRA Shimla and Dr. Manish Gupta Join Hands to Beautify Cancer Hospital for Patient Well-being

Shimla, June 22 – In a thoughtful initiative aimed at uplifting the spirits of cancer patients and their caregivers, Dr. Manish Gupta, Professor and Head of the Cancer Hospital, collaborated with the Shimla branch of the Himachal Pradesh Medical Representatives Association (HPMRA) to beautify the hospital surroundings.

Recognizing that cancer treatment, particularly radiation therapy, often requires patients to stay for 3 to 5 weeks and return for multiple visits over a span of six months or more, the team took a step to create a more healing and comforting environment.

Together, they cleaned the area between the chemotherapy ward and the old Cancer Hospital building and planted approximately 75 saplings. The selection included flowering plants like Hydrangea, Kerria, Jasmine, Chrysanthemum, and Hibiscus – all known for their vibrant blooms and soothing presence.

Dr. Manish Gupta expressed hope that the plants will flourish over time and bring moments of peace and positivity to those undergoing treatment, as well as to the caregivers who stand by them throughout their journey.

The initiative reflects a growing awareness of the importance of emotional and environmental care in the overall healing process for cancer patients.
