(ACF) of tuberculosis patients through mobile vans, under Joint Action Plan by the Ministry of Health was launched today in Shimla

The Prime Minister of India has set targets to end TB by 2025. Keeping this priority, a campaign of Active Case Finding (ACF) of tuberculosis patients through mobile vans, under Joint Action Plan by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare and Ministry of Tribal Affairs was launched today in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh.
The ACF program will be implemented in 100 districts across India for 100 days. This venture is supported by USAID and Piramal Swasthya. The tribal blocks of district Kinnaur,
Chamba and Lahaul & Spiti have been included under this campaign. The launch of campaign for the State was done by flagging of 2 vans, one each for district Chamba and
district Kinnaur, by Mr. Hem Raj Bairwa, Mission Director, National Health Mission,
Himachal Pradesh.
A total of 7 vans (2 for district Chamba, 2 for district Lahaul & Spiti and 3 for district
Kinnaur) will be spreading awareness on tuberculosis during their house to house visits in these tribal blocks. The teams would screen the families for tuberculosis. The samples of the
presumptive cases found will be taken for detection of TB. This shall help early diagnosis and Treatment of tuberculosis by active case finding.
The launch of the program was attended by various officials of central and state government,
including Dr. Gopal Beri- State Tuberculosis officer and Deputy Mission Director, Dr. Ravinder Kumar – WHO Consultant, Sh. L.R Sharma – State IEC officer. Sh. Agniswar
Das- Zonal Program Lead, North India, Piramal Swasthya and Sh. Narender Lal Joshi -Division Program Manager-ADC, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu and Kashmir.
