*Paras Health Panchkula Promotes “Seconds Save Lives: Awareness on Primary First Aid” Programme in Shimla*

Shimla, October 25, 2025: Paras Health Panchkula held an engaging press conference on “Seconds Save Lives: Awareness on Primary First Aid” at Shimla. The initiative focused on spreading awareness about the importance of quick and correct first aid response during medical emergencies—when every second truly matters.

The event brought together leading doctors and health experts who shared valuable insights on how timely first aid can prevent complications and even save lives.

Speaking at the event, Dr Ashish Gupta, Senior Director – Neurosurgery, said, “Emergencies can strike anywhere—at home, on the road, or at work. The first few minutes are often the most critical. Simple actions like controlling bleeding or keeping the airway clear can make all the difference. Our aim is to empower people with the confidence and skills to respond effectively. By spreading this knowledge, we hope to create a community that reacts swiftly rather than freezes in panic.”

Dr Chetan Goel, Associate Director – Emergency, emphasised the importance of preparedness, stating, “When a community knows how to act in the first few moments of an emergency, it becomes stronger and more resilient. Anyone can be a lifesaver with the right awareness and training. By turning ordinary citizens into first responders, we can significantly improve survival outcomes and make our surroundings safer for everyone.”

Dr Sourav Sarkar, Consultant – Plastic Surgery, added, “Many injuries become worse simply because of panic or lack of basic knowledge. Through this initiative, we want to help people understand how to offer safe, immediate assistance until medical professionals arrive. Correct first aid can prevent further harm and support faster recovery. It’s not just about saving lives, it’s about reducing suffering and giving patients the best possible chance even before they reach the hospital.”

The session also featured live demonstrations of essential first aid techniques, guidance on safe handling of accident victims, and practical tips for coordinating with emergency services. Participants were encouraged to engage actively, ask questions, and practice key techniques under expert supervision—reinforcing the hands-on, interactive spirit of the program.

Paras Health continues to champion such initiatives across regions, combining medical expertise with community outreach to build a culture of health awareness and preparedness. Through education and empowerment, the hospital aims to nurture communities that are ready to act calmly, confidently, and effectively when every second counts.
