HPU Vice-Chancellor Emphasizes Key Role of AI and Data in Research

The newly appointed Vice-Chancellor of Himachal Pradesh University, Prof. Mahavir Singh, called upon all the teachers of the University to do the Research Oriented Collaborative Academic Activities. In his address, he said that Data and Artificial Intelligence have a special role in research work and in the present situation, most of the attention of all of us researchers should be focused on such research in which the help of data science and artificial intelligence is taken.

Prof. Mahavir Singh said that every teacher in the university needs to study Artificial Intelligence and Data Science in depth so that the teacher can get new dimensions to provide solutions to the current situations and challenges. He said that every teacher will have to adopt a student-centric approach so that the coming generations of students can be enabled to face the challenges presented before them.

The Vice Chancellor said that all the teachers will have to do research work with mutual cooperation. He said that all the teachers will have to work to improve the ranking of the university. He said that we will have to work together to bring projects for the university. The Vice-Chancellor said that advice has also been received from the Chancellor and the Chief Minister of the state to include Green Energy in the Courses. He said that now all the teachers will be honored on the basis of their study and research work.

Prof. Mahavir Singh said that Himachal Pradesh University and British Council of Royal Society, Japanese Council of Royal Society and USA Research Society will cooperate in academic activities and exchange of research. He said that the offices of the Deans will be strengthened further. He directed to release the allowances of the teachers going to seminar/workshop and examination duty from the university within a week.

On this occasion, Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. Rajindra Verma, Dean Studies Prof. B.K. Shivram, Registrar Shri Gyan Sagar Negi, Dean Student Welfare Prof. Mamta Mokta, Controller of Examinations Prof. Shyam Lal Kaushal, Dean College Development Council Prof. S.S. Narta, many Deans, Directors, Heads of Departments and Teachers were present.
