Ashutosh Kumar, Chairperson of Political Science Department, Panjab University, Chandigarh and Sh. Arvind Khurania, Advocate and Master Trainer, Haryana State Legal Service Authority as the speakers.<\/p>\n<p>Image: Sh. Ashutosh Kumar, Chairperson of Political Science Department, Panjab University, Chandigarh explained how it is the Constitution of India which was instrumental in shattering the various types of inequalities that existed in pre-independence India. He also spoke about the Preamble and how \u2018it has been the torch bearer\u2019 for understanding the Constitution of India. His respect to the Preamble could be seen when he rightly suggested, \u201cAll Citizens should take an oath on the Preamble.\u201d<br \/>\nWhile answering a query, Sh. Ashutosh Kumar also added a valuable insight, when he said, \u201cIt is the \u2018People of India\u2019 who are the Kings, the Sovereigns of the country. This means they have all the rights but these come with a set of duties too, which are equally important.\u201d<br \/>\nSh. Arvind Khurania, Advocate and Master Trainer, Haryana State Legal Service Authority explained how our constitution makers ensured that they made a constitution that could serve the different diversities of the country irrespective of their colour, caste, creed, religion or gender. He also said that the constitution is a beacon of light for the governments to function and introduce new laws. \u201cThe constitution offers the litmus test for various laws that are enacted every day\u201d, he said. While talking about the importance of the Constitution of India, he gave various examples, where in his practice, he had seen the Constitution being cited to demand and gain the enshrined rights.<\/p>\n<p>Image: Sh. Director, Regional Outreach Bureau, Chandigarh gave the welcome address while introducing the topic and saluted our constitution makers for formulating one of the most comprehensive constitutions that has stood the tests of time. Sh. Harshit Narang, Asst. Director, Press Information Bureau, Chandigarh moderated the session and Ms. Sapna, Asst.
