This year the theme of World No Tobacco Day is Tobacco: Threat to Environment.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Smt. Kapur addressing the employees emphasised that for any organization or society to progress, Health was of prime significance and Worldwide over eight million are killed every year by adverse use of tobacco. She emphasised that the youth &amp; the working force of the Nation need to be particularly be aware of the adverse impact of tobacco on our society. This year the pledge was administered under National Swachhta Pakhwada Program, during the year long Celebration Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. Smt. Kapur stated that in line with the commitment of Hon\u2019ble Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi to generate 500 GW Energy by 2030 from Non-Fossil Sources, SJVN has reengineered it\u2019s Business Model with Shared Vision of 5000 MW by 2023, 25000 MW by 2030 &amp; 50000 MW installed capacity by 2040. Presently, SJVN has the total portfolio of around 31,500 MW and has diversified &amp; ventured into Power Transmission and Power Trading also. In order to attain our defined targets it was most essential for our employees and their family members to follow healthy life styles and be aware of the negative impact of tobacco.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Besides aggressively pursuing the business interests of the organization, SJVN has always laid paramount significance in execution of CSR activities, specially in its Project Affected Areas. During Swachhta Pakhwada Program from 16.05.2022 to 31.05.2022, many activities have been performed in the vicinity of Corporate Office Shimla and its project locations, like tree plantation around schools, cleanliness drive in prominent temples like Hanuman Mandir Jakhu, Surya Mandir Neerath etc, special cleanliness drive by SJVN in collaboration with HelpAge India in slum areas of Shimla, installation of dustbins in villages and public places, various competitions in schools regarding awareness towards cleanliness, weeding out of old office records, cleanliness of rivers \/ banks like the Ganga, Satluj and Pinder river, distribution of sanitizors and hygiene equipements in villages, installation of plastic baling machine, bio-compost machines, pad wending machine and incinerators, special cleanliness awareness camps for women etc. The community participation during these activities was most enthusiastic and encouraging.<\/p>\n\n<div style=\"font-size: 0px; height: 0px; line-height: 0px; margin: 0; padding: 0; clear: both;\"><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; Geeta Kapur Director(Personnel), SJVN administered plee on \u201cWorld No Tobacco Day\u201d to all the employees of SJVN at Corporate Office, Shimla.
